Sliding Scale Therapist in NYC: Manhattan, Brooklyn and Online
We offer sliding scale therapy at offices in Manhattan and Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and by video in New York. To find out what you would pay, you book a free 15-minute video call with one of our psychotherapists. You agree on the fee together on that call.
How the sliding scale works
Each psychotherapist here keeps a mix of clients who pay the full fee and clients who pay a reduced fee. Reduced-fee spots are limited and based on financial need.
There is no public price list for the sliding scale. On the free call you can say what you can afford and ask what is possible. We are out of network and submit claims to your insurer for you; our fees and insurance FAQ has the details.
Psychotherapists who see clients at this office
Sessions are with Lola Noero, LCSW, who started the practice and works with couples and trauma, including EMDR; Kara Bloomgarden-Smoke, LMSW, who works with grief and family concerns; or Dori Ellowitch, LMSW, who sees individuals and couples. You can ask on the free call whether a reduced fee is possible for any of this work. Each psychotherapist has their own free call, and our therapists page has a profile of each one to help you choose.

Questions about sliding scale therapy
Can I use the sliding scale if I don't have insurance?
1
Yes. The sliding scale is based on financial need, not on insurance, so you can ask about it on the free call whether or not you have out-of-network benefits.
Is a reduced fee a lesser kind of therapy?
2
No. Reduced-fee clients see the same psychotherapists as full-fee clients.
