Family Therapy and Parenting Support in NYC
We offer family therapy and parenting support in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and by video. Parents can come on their own, as a couple, or with a teen or older child. Seeing a family therapist in NYC with us starts with a free 15-minute video call with the person you would work with.
Who comes for family therapy
Some parents come when they disagree about how to handle a teenager, or when family relationships feel strained. Others come after a death in the family, or when a new baby has changed how the household runs and how the parents get along. A parent who wants support of their own can also book individual therapy.
What happens in sessions
Kara Bloomgarden-Smoke looks at what is happening at home now, and at the earlier relationships that shape how each person reacts. After a death in the family, parents and other relatives can see Kara on their own or together.
Who you would see
The practice sees older children and teens, both on their own and in family sessions.
Lola Noero, LCSW, started the practice. She sees older children and teens on their own and with their families, as well as adults and couples. She also sees couples who are expecting or have just had a baby in couples therapy, working on sharing the load and staying on the same team. When trauma is part of what a parent is dealing with, she offers EMDR therapy alongside family work.
